Like many people today, I have jumped on the coconut oil band wagon. When I first heard of washing your face with coconut oil I thought it was a crazy idea. I thought "isn't washing your face supposed to remove oils?" But upon further investigation for my Oily Skin post I did a while back (Read that here!) I learned that you aren't supposed to be removing all oils. I still was a little worried. We all know oils and oily skin are not a good combination. But it works!

How to:

• Step one: Wet your face with warm water.
• Step two: Scoop out desired amount of coconut oil from the jar. 
• (I use about a half of a tablespoon but the amount you use differs based on your preferences. Try out different amounts without going overboard to find your perfect match.)
• Step three: Rub oil between fingers to turn it from a solid to a liquid-like substance.
• Step four: Rub all over face to remove dirt, unwanted oil and makeup.
• Step five: Rinse face and pat dry.

Yep, it's that simple! You don't even need to moisturize after because the coconut oil leaves your skin moisturized and clean!

If you are reading this, you are most likely a young girl (or boy, makeup doesn't discriminate and neither do I) that has just joined the beautiful world of cosmetics. I want to be the first to say, welcome! 
If you were anything like I was when I was 11 and begun wearing makeup, you probably know next to nothing about what you're putting on your face. (Or maybe you know more than I did. I didn't have YouTube gurus and Pinterest to teach me. You do.) Here are some tips you should always remember when applying your makeup that might just save you from looking back at your photos from middle school thinking "I thought that looked good?"

While writing this post, I took a look back at my Facebook profile pictures. I just gotta send a shout out to puberty for leaving me looking... pretty good.

If you knew me between the ages of 10 and well, now I guess, you would know that I have always been obsessed with Nick Jonas. 

The year I turned 12 I got tickets to see Nick, Kevin and Joe in concert at the BYU Stadium of Fire show on the 4th of July. When we arrived and were walking to our seats there was a gate with trailers behind it. All of the other 10 - 16 year old girls began to scream and run, so I followed. Behind that tarp covered gate, about 6 feet away, was what I believed to be at the time, my future husband. I freaked out. Have you ever seen the videos of The Beatles being chased by crazed girls? This moment was not Beatlemania, but Jonasmania! (I did, in fact, see Kevin's shoe. So that's cool.)

Anyways, story time over...

In honor of Nick's new single Levels and his (seemingly extremely hot) video dropping this weekend, here are 6 reasons Nick Jonas is well, completely everything.

1. That curl that would always lay on his forehead.

Any true Jonas fan can remember the perfect curl that would always land flawlessly across Nick's forehead in the Camp Rock era and how it made you melt. Even though Nick has since changed his hairstyle multiple times since, that
curl will always be in our memories.

3. His acting abilities.


I knew for years that Nick had the ability to act, but let's be honest, with Disney's shows like Camp Rock, Jonas, and Jonas LA, I never really saw the true potential of Nick's ability to act until Audience's Kingdom came out last year. He plays Nate, an up and coming boxer whose father runs a gym in California and trains him and his brother.
But I'm not really great at explaining these things. Go get it on Itunes. It doesn't disappoint.

The first few years of my early teens I really struggled with my confidence. I was probably in the darkest place of my life so far (and hopefully ever) and really hated what I saw in the mirror. 

It took some time, but now I am more confident than ever. But I still keep little things around to constantly remind myself I am enough. 

Here are some ways to remind yourself you're worth it:


1. Keep inspirational quotes around you. 

I always have inspirational quotes surrounding me. It's amazing how powerful a little sticky note with a few words on them can be. I keep them everywhere. In my wallet, on my mirror, in my locker at school.
Keeping these things around remind you that you are amazing when you are feeling down.

If you know me personally, you know I collect designer perfumes and LOVE to smell good!
When I worked in a local department store, I always loved the days I worked fragrance because I could stand around and sample perfumes with my customers. Talk about a dream come true! Now I can pretty much say I've sampled almost all of the popular perfumes made by celebs.
